This year’s Wimbledon will be broadcast live in 3D for the first time. The BBC announced its decision ahead of the 2011 tournament.
This is the first 3D event staged by the Beeb, and will be screened via it’s HD Channel. Anyone with 3D TV – such as the service provided by Sky (click link for more info) – will be able to receive the free-to-air transmissions. Freesat, Virgin Media and Freeview join Sky in distributing this historical occasion.

Apparently, when you take out some of the elements of the remote control sensors from your TV and turn it into something else (just as a neat team of Texas researchers have done), you can actually make touch screens out of nothing at all. No kidding! Vancouver’s Human Interaction Conference recently unveiled one of the interesting takes on touch screen technology to date: Zero Touch.
This guy here seems happy suspending the ZeroTouch and playing with it by creating figures with his fingers that are projected on the wide screen for everyone to see:
