I know this is not a fresh news for everyone, specially to the DSLR fanatics. I’m no good in reviewing DSLRs and I don’t own a DSLR yet. This is the newest DSLR from Nikon and it was released today, April 27, 2009! The D5000 Kit, which runs $849.95 and comes bundled with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Nikkor lens. Initial impressions are as follows: it’s lightweight, it’s sexy and the articulating display is downright spectacular, Engadget said.

So? Engadget already shared their first impression about D5000. I didn’t have a review unit and I don’t know what to say next. All I can share with you is that this is a very good DSLR and that’s it!

Nikon said in their press release about D5000 is it’s an innovative 2.7-in. Vari-angle monitor, outstanding 12.3-megapixel image quality, D-Movie capability, and expanded Scene Modes deliver renowned Nikon quality in a fun, easy-to-use digital SLR.

Most of my friends use a Nikon DSLR because it’s compatible with old Nikon lenses, even the manual types from years back. That’s the beauty of a Nikon DSLR.

Very nice DSLR. Good job and congratulations to Nikon! I’ll seriously consider this model when I go and buy my own DSLR soon.

  7. blued888 Says:

Honestly, it’s just a tad too expensive being priced at a little over P40,000. It doesn’t even the auto-focus functionality integrated into the body like the rest of the Nikons!
