Motorola Droid X Price, Pictures, and Specifications

Written by Vincent Rays. Posted under Mobile Phones on June 28th, 2010

Another sleek and powerful Android phone was unleashed by our friends from Motorola, the successor of Motorola Droid, the Droid X. Droid X was released just after HTC EVO 4G and Apple iPhone 4 was released in the US.

Motorola Droid X has a 4.3-inch widescreen, 8-megapixel camera that shoots 720p HD video, and has more cool and awesome features that an Android phone can offer. Droid X will run at 1.0GHz, same with the EVO 4G. But it’s way more better than HTC because it has adopted OMAP processors by Texas Instruments rather than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon.

Droid X includes an HDMI output, potentially giving it the same multimedia capabilities as the Zune HD by Microsoft. Droid X has a whooping 8GB of onboard storage and a microSD expansion slot with a pre-installed 16GB card. That’s a total of 24GB available right out of the box! You can expand it for up to 40GB (if you upgrade your microSD to 32GB).

The Droid X will ship with Android 2.1 OS, but Motorola will update it to Android 2.2 by end of July, 2010. Just like Motorola’s previous Droid offerings, the X will by exclusive on Verizon. Starting July 15, Verizon will offer it for only $200 USD after a $100 rebate.

it has too big screen. It is not anymore friendly for your pocket. It will consume all of the space in your pocket. Not a portable anymore. For me Ideal maximum screen size for mobile phone is 3.5 inches. If you want bigger screen to watch movie. Buy a portable lcd tv :D

I wanna know how to jailbreak this smart phone and edit the registry if needed. Also I’d like to add HTC Sense UI if possible.

  11. Dacia Papke Says:

I technically can’t wait around for this smart phone, just two days remaining and I just hope I can get my hands on one,. I have been reading a lot about the Android two.2 update that can come in August, just another reason to be excited about this wonderful phone. Motorola and Verizon say they will update the phone to Android 2.2 “late summer.” It will probably be an over-the-air update. However out-of-the box on its July 15 launch it will probably have Android 2.1.

I have already been sense a minor heat this a . m . from several people not seeking to think that the Droid X stock will be confined on release day, as we reported previously. Well we have just got 5 extra screenshots from 5 fairly major marketplaces as well as I’d point out once more that inventory appears to end up being quite limited to me. Some of the main retailers get up-wards of 60 devices, but a few might only have got 5 devices. Now maybe these numbers are preceding common for a Verizon launch, but for a device this big, I imagine I simply thought retailers would certainly could have tried to have been overstocked.

so i am on the 5th motorola cliq waiting for the 6th to arrive.. Unhappy and i must say i’m quite disappointed with the replacements ive been getting, keyboards not lighting up, the screen breaking , turning off unexpectedly, being extreamly hot when charging..etc.. ive just had the worst luck with this phone.. they offered me the brand new dash and the new blackberry.. but i really like the versatility of this phone so much that im trying to look past it.. i only want to know if anyone else is having these problems with replacements.. or just in general.

The Motorola DROID continues to present new possibilities every day. I have had it for about 10 months and I have had a Blackberry attached to my body considering that September 1998. Being connected is a crucial element of my life so I am constantly reachable by family and co-workers. I am a bit addicted for the Marketplace for DROID Applications. If the device had unlimited memory I would check the capacity. I believe this OS would be the way with the future and intend to develop with all of you to understand it by way of and via. Thanks for the content.
