I was quite serious about my New Year’s resolutions and I even enlisted the help of an online website account called 43things to get things right. If you are as serious as me in your resolutions, particularly in having more compelling professional presentations for this coming year, you might find this featured gadget quite useful. From what is otherwise viewed as something which subtly sailed in the gadget offering periphery, the Icon 7 Twister Evolution has truly proven its mettle in becoming the most apt mouse for ones who want to approach their presentations more effectively in this new year.

This Icon 7 Twister Evolution has been around for quite some time. But it has not gained a lot of instant recognition like other gadgets (tablets and gaming gadgets, for one, really took the center stage this holiday season). I have found something worth noting about mice, in general. There has been significantly changes to the mouse designs lately; more and more developers and including additional features that make the mouse more than just the simple point and click device it was originally known for. If Shogun’s recent mouse offering is more for the subtle gamer, this Icon 7 Twister Evolution is for the serious professional worker on-the-go. If I were to summarize its features in a sentence, it will run like this: It’s a stylish mouse, laser pointer and laser presenter rolled into one.

Use it as a mouse first; twist it and it becomes a laser presenter. Its twist is not something to be shocked about, but it definitely gave it an edge compared to other new gadgets in the same rough category of multi-purpose mice. For one, it does not make for bulky storage. It is the contortionist mobile mouse that can make itself slimmer for storage and expand only when it is in use. Also, you will not have to be worried about eating up too much battery power; it’s smart enough to shut off the device on its own when not in use or idle. One more thing, it does not have that tacky roller (that runs the risk of getting loose over months of severe usage), since it has this touch-sensitive key for scrolling, which makes it really cool to use.
Three Happy New Years later, you will be pleased to find the warranty still working to your benefit. That’s something very likeable, since most gadgets are known for relatively low warranty periods. The price is a little high at $159, though.
Of course, this is not the perfect gadget. Like our own selves, which are replete with resolutions for improvement year in and year out, this model can use some recommendations. For one, it cannot stand alone. Compatbility with both Windows and Mac compensates for its dependence to the main gadgets. But we have yet to see a mouse that can actually stand on its own; it’s not entirely a demise for Icon 7 that it is only connected to your computer via USB port. Well, there are more New Years to come and there will always be new mice to come and play when the cheese of gadget addicts like us continue to stay.
